Munro Academy is a growing private Christian International Baccalaureate World School school offering positively life changing Christian education for Pre-Primary to Grade 12 Students.
Summary
The Executive Administrative Assistant provides professional administrative support for Munro’s ministries. As part of a vibrant team, the Executive Administrative Assistant is based out of the NS Campus main office, provides support for all sectors (MS/HS, Elementary, International Student Program, ELC) and is responsible to the Head of School.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support for the Head of School
- NS Office/Team Responsibilities:
- Welcome students and public throughout the school day
- Answer phone calls, respond to questions and refer inquiries
- Control access into/out of school, maintaining visitor log and issuing visitor passes
- Maintain first aid kit and provide basic first aid support for students and staff (training provided)
- Complete rotating recess supervision duties (TBD in dialogue with MS/HS principal)
- Participate regularly in NS Team devotions, betterment meetings, etc.
- Engage in opportunities to encourage and pray with students and staff when needed.
- Munro Ministries (MS/HS, Elementary, International, ELC):
- Provide ongoing support for Munro’s bookkeeper and other bookkeeping staff including being the first point of contact with the public for receiving payments, invoices, tracking of and followup on payments received for school activities, etc..
- In conjunction with Munro Bookkeeper and Head of School:
- Complete of CRA submissions; provide donor tax receipts for timely distribution to donors;
- Provide first point of contact liaising and check & balance with banking, including releasing payroll; facilitating e-transfers, etc..
- In conjunction with the Director of International Students - generate IS invoices; track IS payments; etc..
- Provides administrative support to the MA Board, Elementary, MS/HS & ELC.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Commitment to providing positively life-changing education for Cape Breton students through integrating the Bible and the person of Jesus into quality education.
- Relevant training in administrative and/or financial support, along with previous experience in a similar role, is strongly preferred.
- Active involvement in local church/parish.
- Ability to contribute to unity in Christ’s body in teaching as a member of staff representing the breadth and wealth of Cape Breton’s denominations.
- Commitment to Munro Academy’s community vision as outlined in Student/Parent Handbook.
- Successful completion of required criminal/abuse registry checks.
Compensation
- Making a formational difference in the lives of Cape Breton students at this pivotal age!
- Pay range: $18-$20.50/hour based on training and experience. Munro Academy makes standard salary deductions as per CRA guidelines.
- Health/life, etc. benefits package available for 50% FTE+ (50/50 copay).
- Up to $1,000/year for post bachelor’s degree continuing education (approved by principal)
- $600/year retirement plan prorated based on FTE.
- Up to 50% bursary on tuition for school-aged children enrolled in Munro.
- Usage of a school owned laptop.
