Description
Munro Academy (MA) is a growing private Christian International Baccalaureate World School school offering positively life changing Christian education for Pre-Primary to Grade 12 Students.
Summary
The Maintenance Lead demonstrates professional excellence in providing important maintenance and repair leadership for the Munro Academy Elementary facilities in Balls Creek and MS/HS + ELC facilities in Sydney Mines. The Maintenance Lead is responsible to the Head of School and is hired by the Head of School and Board.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with Head of school and leadership teams, creatively and diligently maintaining and improving facilities and systems, including heating structures, HVAC, electrical, structural and IT (in house and with contractors as needed)
- Shepherding/responding to regular inspections as required for fire safety, furnace, etc..
- This is a flexible hours PT role. Work is often project based. Timing details to be further discussed.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Commitment to being an important part of the MA team providing positively life-changing education.
- Strong demonstrated work ethic; ability to efficiently and creatively maintain and improve structures and systems (either direct competencies or ability to work effectively with specific subcontractors).
- Demonstrated ability to relate effectively, respectfully and professionally in a team setting including interactions with leadership, subcontractors, staff, students, parents and public.
- Successful completion of required criminal/abuse registry checks.
Compensation:
- Being an important part of the MA educational ministry
- Wage: $28-$30/hour. Munro Academy makes standard salary deductions as per CRA guidelines
- Bursary covering 50% tuition for dependant children accepted into Munro Academy (prorated based on Full Time Equivalent (FTE) of Part Time role)
- Blue Cross 50/50 copay health/life insurance plan (prorated based on Full Time Equivalent (FTE) of Part Time role)
- Retirement plan of $600/year (paid $50/month) paid by MA (prorated based on Full Time Equivalent (FTE) of Part Time role)
